College Book Exchange
Students at the College have now completed the organisation of the Book Exchange scheme. The College doors are now open after school to parents and students at the College who wish to browse a growing selection of donated books. The idea of the exchange is simple, bring in any book you have read and finished with and select one from the shelves. For a small donation books can be retained, the monies going towards the Brothers charitable funds for Haiti and Togo. All we would ask is that you refrain from simply clearing your loft!
Saturday Quiz Night – March 2012
The QUIZ NIGHT took place on Saturday evening. Charlton children from 6pm. and College families from 7pm. (although many of the former stayed throughout). Once again our chef, James, provided a very tasty buffet. Dr.K ensured the questions were sufficiently taxing us before this month’s Budget asks more of us! Many thanks to all that support this event.
We appreciate that many families cannot be available for these events or the many tasks that the schools have! (see previous blogs) and that is why the 200 CLUB (Lottery) is so beneficial. If you have not yet joined (£2.50 a month) please either ask for a form to be brought home or have a copy e-mailed from the Office.
Shed Demolition
Many thanks to John and William Ingram who demolished the old allotement shed on Saturday. This will allow for the construction of the new one purchased by the Parents Association. The allotement was used intensively last year by Mrs Weaver and students at the College both at lunchtime and after school. The addition of suitable storage will mean students no longer have to carry equipment from the Biology room to the raised beds.
