Charlton House Sports Day

Charlton Sports Day went without any hitches yesterday and the children performed well in their individual events – as did the parents in their respective events too!

School Prom 2010

_MG_3371

The School Prom has become an important part of school life and is seen by many as an act of ‘moving on’. It is for this reason that parents swelled  the ranks of spectators last night outside Chilworth Manor Hotel. The arrival of students in Stretch Limos, Classic cars and even a Horse and carriage created the start to a wonderful evening. The year 11 have made a great impression on the College and ended their time with us in style. My thanks go to Mrs Thompson and  Mrs Gallagher for their work in organising and decorating the venue. To Mr Heron for the wonderful photographs you see here. Finally a big thank-you to all  the parents, teachers and friends who supported the students throughout their time at the College.

A visit to Southampton Library

Years 1 to 4 had a fantastic time at Southampton library yesterday meeting two well-known children’s authors. Years 1 and 2 met Nick Sharratt whilst years 3 and 4 spent time with Kristina Stephenson. Each author talked about their work, read extracts from their books and answered questions from the children. A fun time was had by all !

book activities

In the afternoon Years 5 and 6 met with the well-known author Josh Lacey and enjoyed his humour as he read extracts from his books and inspired the Charlton children to become budding writers. The children also had the privilege of meeting the Mayor of Southampton,  Mrs. Carol Curio.
