College Success at County Rowing event!

P1000251

St Mary’s competed for the first time in the annual competition.  The event was very high profile with the Mayor handing out medals and international rowers giving demonstrations.

Special mentions must go to both Tom Stanley and Isaac Cullinane who became City Champions and finished 2nd in Hampshire in their respective age groups.  Due to their performances both students have been selected to compete in the National competition next month.

Book Exchange Scheme

books

Students at the College start to prepare books for the Book Exchange scheme. Shortly the College doors will be open after school to parents and students at the College who wish to browse a growing selection of donated books. The idea of the exchange is simple, bring in any book you have read and finished with and select one from the shelves. For a small donation books can be retained, with the monies going towards the Brothers charitable funds for Haiti and Togo. All we would ask is that you refrain from simply clearing your loft!

It is hoped that such a scheme will encourage reading and improve literacy skills for all, while possibly raising funds for the schools charities. Watch out for a further blog in the next few days that will officially declare it open.

Ski-Trip December/January 2012/13

.

The Ski Trip is now ‘up and running’ with just over 40 adults and children signed up and set to fly out on the 29th December. After such a great time last year it is clearly hoped that a similar experience can be had by all. I thank all of you that have responded so quickly to secure places this year.

Many Thanks

Mr Keenan

Togo and Haiti Band Fundraiser

DSC00503

An outstanding evening of entertainment. Students, staff and former students gathered  on Friday evening to perform an eclectic mix of music. Monies raised go towards the Brothers appeals in Haiti and Togo. Well done to all involved.
