Heartfelt congratulations to all the student performers and technicians from St. Mary’s and Charlton who took part in last night’s Summer Prom. Your enthusiasm, hard work and talent made it a very special night and a wonderfully entertaining evening of music. Well done!

A BIG thank you to all those who helped in the preparation of the event: Mrs. Salmon + Mrs. Barnett, all the peripatetic instrument teachers, the staff of SMC and Charlton, Mrs. Saunders, Mr. Hulbert, Mrs. Gallagher and all the parents who helped with catering, decorations, raffle, bar, ticketing, etc… and my musician friends Mr. David King and Mrs. Bernie Edwards.

The School Prom has become an important part of school life and is seen by many as an act of ‘moving on’. It is for this reason that parents swelled  the ranks of spectators last night outside the Marwell Hotel. The arrival of students in Stretch Limos, Scooters and the back of a ‘pick-up’ truck created the start to a pleasent evening. The year 11 have made a great impression on the College and ended their time with us in style. My thanks go to Mrs Gallagher for her work in decorating the venue so beautifully and to Mrs Solomon and Shauna Soloman for organising the event. A special thank-you goes to Mr and Mrs Ingram for their very kind support with the ‘last minute’ panic with regards the music and DJ. Finally a big thank-you to all  the parents, teachers and friends who supported the students throughout their time at the College.
