Thank-you to all the parents, staff and students who attended this informal event last night. The College is very proud of its continued success both academically and as a working community. Following their successful first week and shared conversations last night it would appear that this year group will be setting some high standards in both these areas. Welcome to St Mary’s College.
The refurbishment of the Biology Lab is now complete …
Many ‘Thanks’ to the small but enthusiastic team of dedicated volunteers who made this happen. The area was re-decorated, benches relocated and ‘treated’, areas of flooring fixed and the sink splash backs were tiled.
The area is now looking fantastic and fully compliments the Physics and Chemistry Labs that have been refurbished over the last few years…

The minutes of the SMCPA’s first meeting of the year can be accessed through the link below. Any parents wishing to know more about the Parents Association are welcome to contact the College or Charlton House. The AGM social event on the 17th September would be a great opportunity for parents to meet current members and gain some insight into the invaluable work they perform, details to follow.
Charlton House and St Marys College will be holding Welcome Masses on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th respectively. The services will take place in the College Chapel at 9.00am in both cases. Families and friends are most welcome to attend.
During the College service last Years Form 7 and 7a will welcome our new Year 7 . Musicians from other years will be accompanying them. Parents of the Colleges Year 7 are reminded of the ‘New Parents Evening’ on Monday 13th September at 7.00pm in the Dining Hall.
The New term starts for students on Tuesday 7th September. We would like to welcome all our new students and wish them well as they start their journey with us. We also welcome back all our students after the Summer break.
Would parents please ensure that the correct uniform and equipment are provided for students. This will ensure a smooth start and set the correct tone for the term. A reminder also that the College and Charlton operate a one-way system on site for the safety of all students. The entrance is at Cobden Avenue and exit at Midanbury Lane between the hours of 8.00-9.15 and 15.00-16.00. The Charlton gate will be open to parents but no right turn is permitted into the College access road, this will conflict with vehicles moving towards Midanbury Lane.
Both Mr Lickley and Mrs Owen would like to express our thanks to all of the parents that have undertaken work on the site during the Summer break. Their efforts are greatly appreciated.
